THE DEVELOPMENT CHALLENGE WAS TWOFOLD:

Managing sales content across the enterprise. SAP needed a coordinated way to input, tag, and store multiple assets and case studies from hundreds of customers.

The first goal was fulfilled through Espresso, a web based content management solution tailored for a global enterprise. SAP uses the system to store assets of various formats (text, graphics, video, etc.).

Espresso also supported the Customer Journey app. Customer Journey is an innovative iPad case study app which allows the sales force to access the right case study presentations and testimonials. The Customer Journey app produces Customer Stories from the assets stored in Espresso.

Each of these tools are integrated and the resulting suite has become a cornerstone of SAP’s ability to create and distribute the right sales materials to the right customers on an as needed basis.

HOW WE DID IT:

We used Symphony, a flexible PHP-based framework, to build the system quickly. Symphony enabled us to build both the larger content repository and the CMS/backend for the Customer Journey app. So we achieved both goals with one system.

Tango Modem finished the project in about 100 days. Our staff in the U.S. defined requirements and managed the development process. Project managers and developers in Argentina executed the work on time and on budget.

SAP now has access to tens of thousands of searchable content modules and can publish Customer Journey stories for over ten thousand sales people globally.
